Justice AmeriCorps Fellows, Carlos Valenzuela, Astrid Avedissian, and Luisa Lebron, sat down with NY Secretary of State Cesar Perales on Friday, November 13th, to discuss the need for more pro bono representation on Long Island.

There was a great increase in the amount of unaccompanied minors entering the United States in 2015, many of whom currently live on Long Island. Mr. Perales thanked the Safe Passage fellows for their hard work and thanked the Safe Passage Project for continuing to recruit and train attorneys to represent children throughout New York, especially on Long Island.
