The featured attorney of the week for this week is not a single lawyer, but rather a team of three lawyers from BakerHostetler: Stacy Dasaro, Sonny Carpenter, and Oren Warshavsky. We are excited to recognize this fantastic group of lawyers for the amazing results they achieved with both of their clients.

Stacy focuses her practice on bankruptcy law and litigation. Prior to joining Baker Hostetler, she clerked in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York and completed an internship in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of New York. Susrut (Sonny) Carpenter  has excelled in the areas of white collar and business defense and commercial litigation. His past experiences include U.S. Army Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corps, as well as the U.S. Department of Justice. Oren Warshavsky is a partner with BakerHostetler. His expertise is in the areas of intellectual property and complex litigation. He has a wealth of knowledge and worked closely with Stacy and Sonny throughout the immigration court process.

This team represented two young brothers from Honduras in their asylum cases and both were granted. The process was long and often required out-of-the-box thinking, but at the end of the process Stacy, Sonny, and Oren were grateful to represent these kids. When both brothers were finally granted asylum, the team was thrilled to tell the clients’ father about the amazing result. After everything his sons had gone through, he was so happy for them to finally be living safely in the US.The Safe Passage project thanks BakerHostetler, and specifically Stacy, Sonny and Oren, for giving their time and expertise to help these brothers in need.
