Tina Rosenberg of the New York Times highlighted the work of Safe Passage Project in her column. Her coverage includes interviews with our Executive Director Rich Leimsider and our founder, Professor Lenni Benson:

“The safety net for these children (such as it is) is sustained by the legal equivalent of a bake sale. The system has life-or-death power over children. Yet it provides a modicum of fairness only by the grace of tens of thousands of volunteers. ‘If you’re like me, you can’t sit by,’ Professor Benson said. ‘This is America.'”

As the column mentions, we’re looking for more pro bono attorneys and you can help by spreading the word.

We’re grateful for the attention to this important issue and hope you’ll share with friends.
