Roundtable Discussion: Children and the Long-Term Effects of Family Separation

Free Event

Escaping horrific and often deadly situations in their home countries, some Central American children are making the dangerous trek north in search of protection. Over the summer, our government abused the trust of these vulnerable children, separated them from their parents, and detained them in jails. Join us for a roundtable discussion in New York City on October 11 on how our communities fought back against the horrific practice of family separation and how the fight continues, four months later. Can't make it to New York City? Join us via Livestream! Choose the “Livestream” option when you RSVP and we'll send you the link. Speakers include Karen Lucas of the Immigration Justice Campaign; Gui Stampur, Co-Founder and Deputy Executive Director of Safe Passage Project; Sharon Phillips, Immigration Attorney and Volunteer; Dr. Alan Shapiro of Terra Firma; and Diego, Safe Passage Project Client.
