A Century of Targeting Immigrants: From the Red Scare to the Travel Ban

Join historians, legal scholars, and leading attorneys for an all-day symposium exploring the historical and legal treatment of immigrants, from the 1919 Red Scare raids seeking to deport immigrant radicals to contemporary threats to immigrants’ rights.

The keynote speaker is David Cole, National Legal Director of the American Civil Liberties Union and author of many books including Enemy Aliens: Double Standards and Constitutional Freedoms in the War on Terrorism (Free Press, 2003).

The group Voices of a People's History of the United States will perform excerpts related to Howard Zinn's acclaimed book.
