Cornell University's Migrations: A Global, Interdisciplinary, Multi-Species Examination

Free Event

Join Cornell University's Migrations initiative on Wednesdays at 3:00pm EST this fall for a series of public lectures (zoom webinars) looking at migration in global, interdisciplinary, multi-species terms. The full schedule with registration links for each of the weekly talks (free and open to all) is available below.

Join us to better understand one of the key challenges of the contemporary moment: migration. Our world is increasingly in motion. The unprecedented pace, scale, and complexity of movement on our planet—of humans, plants, animals, cultural messages and artifacts, resources, pathogens, and more—present a diverse suite of challenges and opportunities that play out across local, regional, national, and international scales.

In this interdisciplinary series of webinars, they will approach migrations as multi-species phenomena emerging from dynamic socio-ecological systems, as well as driving changes in those same systems. This broad-ranging series spans multiple academic units and brings together researchers and research projects with different perspectives, disciplinary approaches, spatiotemporal scales, and socioecological contexts.
