World Refugee Day was established by the United Nations on the 50th Anniversary of the Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees. Safe Passage Project works every day to make this promise of protection real for hundreds of children in the New York area.

More than 90% of Safe Passage Project’s clients are fleeing the Northern Triangle of El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras: three of the five most violent countries in the world. Today, our clients and other children like them are seeking protection in the U.S. in record numbers.

Join Safe Passage Project in support of refugees, young and old. We’re excited to host you and to share these unique pieces of NYC history, so come walk with us!
