On October 23, 2013, the  Appellate Division, 2d Dept, issued a great decision for SIJS advocates.    The Court interpreted the SIJS statute to provide eligibility where reunification with just one parent is not viable as a result of abuse, neglect, abandonment or a similar State law basis.
