This Sunday, March 22, 2015, Justice AmeriCorps Fellow at Safe Passage, Luisa Lebron, Esq. conducted a “Know Your Rights” presentation at the Christ Episcopal Church in Brentwood, Long Island. Ms. Lebron discussed navigating deportation proceedings and the forms of immigration relief available to unaccompanied children, including Asylum, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS), Withholding of Removal, Prosecutorial Discretion, U Visas, and T Visas. Thanks to the help and generosity of Reverend Alejandra Trillos and the Brentwood Community, the event was well attended and successful!
