Last week, our amazing Executive Director, Lenni Benson, was recognized by two organizations for her dedication and success in her work.

The Leyton Award, presented by Houses on the Moon, is given in honor of Mauricio Leyton, a leader and activist dedicated to helping both individuals and communities grow and come together. The award is granted annually to an individual or organization that champions the unheard voice through community service. In addition to the award, Lenni also received $1,000 for Safe Passage Project.

Lenni was also recognized by NYC Service and Mayor Bill de Blasio in the NYC Mayoral Service Recognition Program. The program honors and thanks the city’s most engaged individuals for their volunteer service. To see the full report, click here. On April 27th, Lenni was honored at City Hall with 35 other individuals for serving over 1,000 hours as a volunteer for Safe Passage Project.
